Credits & Achievements Acting Biography Writing, Directing, and Producing Teaching ![]() Acting Select Films Select Television Appearances Biography Cliff Osmond comes to the acting business from a variety of venues: A member of Kappa Alpha Sigma Honorary Business Fraternity, the Academy of Motion
Picture Arts and Sciences, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and Who’s
Who in America. Mr. Osmond received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration
from Datrmouth College, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance)
from UCLA where he also advanced to candidacy for his Ph.D. in Theatre History.
![]() Writing, Directing, and Producing Mr. Osmond is a screenwriter as well. Since then, he has written scores of television episodes, movies and pilots, as well as several feature films and a novel. He was nominated for a Writer's Guild Award for an episode of "Streets of San Francisco" and he collaborated on a screenplay ("Power Play," which starred Peter O'Toole) that won the Best Screenplay Award at the Canadian Film Festival. He was hired as a staff story editor on an NBC series entitled "Sweepstakes." His duties there (in addition to writing several episodes himself) included developing additional story ideas for all episodes of the series. He also wrote the film "The Penitent," which he directed, starring Raul Julia and Armand Assante. He has also involved himself in the production side of the film business. He co-wrote and served as Creative Supervisor on a film entitled "Joe Panther," in charge of all post-production activities, including final editing. He worked for Taft Pictures, a division of the Cincinnati-based media conglomerate, Taft
Broadcasting, as producer-writer-director. During his two-year tenure there, the company
produced two full-length feature films, "The Conspiracy to Kill the President," which Mr. Osmond
co-wrote, and "The Boogens." He was also involved with two two-hour NBC television movies,
"The Nashville Grab," and "The Return of Grizzly Adams." He acted as Associate Producer on all
four of the above films.
![]() Teaching Concurrent with his other film careers, Mr. Osmond has conducted weekly scene-study classes in Los Angeles, San Francisco and around the country. He has also lectured and conducted acting workshops at the U.S. Film and Video Festival in Park City, Utah, the Denver Film Festival, the University of Texas, University of Utah, St. Edwards University, Louisiana Tech University, University of Houston, Southern Methodist University, The Southwest Theatre Conference, Southwest Theatre Festival, Rocky Mountain Festival, Texas Educational Theatre Association and at private acting schools and seminars throughout almost all the fifty states. By his estimate, he has taught over 20,000 students during the teaching phase of his
career.
